Job Description:

This is a very active role which will always keep you on the move! There are varied duties including, moving LGV/HGV vehicles and trailers, directing onsite traffic and working with dock office and transport departments. Your role will be to ensure that customer goods are moved around on-site and transported between designated sites in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner. You will also assist with general driving duties to ensure company and legal requirements are met.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conducting daily checks, reporting any defects and / or damage and completing relevant documentation
  • Carrying out and completing trailer checks on loaded trailers and reporting to operations desk
  • Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
  • Following company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
  • Effectively managing own working time
  • Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
  • Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
  • Completing vehicles downloads
  • Monitoring services / MOTs
  • Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
  • Liaising with Transport Office as and when required
  • Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard
  • Moving LGV/HGV vehicles and trailers
  • Directing onsite traffic
  • Working with dock office and transport departments
