Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time LGV Class 1 Driver to join our Heavy Cranes Transport division. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled driver with experience in transporting heavy and abnormal loads who is looking to work within a professional and safety-focused environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Safely transport heavy plant and crane equipment, including abnormal loads, to various sites
  • Ensure full compliance with road transport regulations, operator licence requirements, and Company policies
  • Carry out vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness
  • Work closely with the planning and operations teams to deliver projects efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records, including tachograph and delivery documentation
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Demonstrable experience driving heavy and/or abnormal loads
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card
  • Strong understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
  • A safety-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights or weekends

  • Operating all lifting equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company Safety Directives and method statements. Loading and unloading plant and equipment in accordance with safe practice, the Company's Safety Directives and Method Statements. Ensuring axle weights are not exceeded
  • Carrying out daily checks of vehicle and any lifting / holding equipment (including straps and chains), recording any defects and reporting them to the Foreman / Depot Manager / Fleet Manager.
