This elite US law firm is looking for a high-calibre mid-level Associate to join its market-leading global finance platform in London. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, fast-growing team that advises a sophisticated roster of financial sponsors, banks and corporate borrowers on the European market’s most complex and innovative cross-border financing transactions. The practice offers comprehensive expertise across the full spectrum of leveraged finance and all tiers of the capital structure including syndicated senior and second lien facilities, private credit, ABL facilities, Holdco PIK and fund financings. With a particular focus on sponsor-side mandates, the group manages high-octane transactions across the entire investment lifecycle, frequently collaborating with the firm’s global offices on multijurisdictional deals where strong transaction management is essential. The team also maintains significant expertise in infrastructure finance, restructuring and asset-backed financings, working in tight alignment with the firm’s High Yield practice to deliver seamless advisory on bridge-to-bond structures and parallel loan/HYB components. Job Responsibility

  • Lead on market-leading, high-profile cross-border buyouts and leveraged acquisitions
  • Act as a strategic advisor to global private equity houses and their portfolio companies across the entire investment lifecycle
  • Gain early and regular exposure to key sponsor stakeholders, managing complex financing arrangements from inception to closing
  • Be encouraged to proactively drive sponsor relationship development and help expand the firm’s private equity footprint
  • Work closely with partners invested in your technical mastery of sponsor-side debt products and your long-term career progression

Requirements

  • 3-6 years’ PQE in the London market (or comparable common law jurisdiction)
  • Strong understanding of highly leveraged capital structures and leveraged loan products
  • Experience advising financial sponsors, banks, or corporates on cross-border leveraged financings
  • Confidence leading drafting and negotiation of commitment papers and definitive loan/intercreditor documentation
  • Solid understanding of English law security
  • Preferably, some exposure to infrastructure finance matters
  • Strong transaction management skills
  • Ability to work to demanding timetables
  • Commercial awareness and strong client skills
  • Collaborative approach
