Job Description

Provide technical assistance, assessments, inspection, troubleshooting, corrective actions, adjustments/repairs, and grooms on shipboard tanks, voids, and topside structure and coatings. Use appropriate measuring/test equipment to obtain data for evaluation. Provide written visit debrief and written reports. Attend conferences and meetings. Provide On-The-Job Training to the ship's force during shipboard evolutions. Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, diagrams, and sketches.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in the assessment, repair, and maintenance of tanks, voids, spaces/compartments, and topside areas on US Navy ships
  • Three (3) years of specialized hands-on experience working and inspecting ship tanks, voids, and spaces/compartments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of welding requirements as defined in MIL Standard 1689 & IAW MRCs G1N5 & G1N6
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding sheet metal, preservation, insulation, piping, and electrical systems on US Navy Ships
  • Must show technical experience in the field of preservation and/or structural/coatings assessments
  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance
  • Must be self-motivated, customer-oriented, and possess strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills
