Job Description:

A friendly and well-regarded primary school in Brighton is seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term supply basis. The school is known for its supportive leadership, inclusive ethos, and strong focus on pupil wellbeing and achievement. Job Responsibility:

  • Support the delivery of engaging lessons alongside the class teacher
  • Lead small group interventions to support pupil progress
  • Provide 1:1 support, including for pupils with additional needs
  • Assist with planning and preparation of classroom activities and resources
  • Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school team

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
  • Previous experience working within a UK primary school
  • Confident supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Experience delivering interventions or supporting phonics and numeracy programmes
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
