Job Description

Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and proactive Level 3 Teaching Assistant for supply opportunities across fantastic primary schools in the Okehampton area. As a supply TA, you will have the chance to work within different primary year groups (EYFS to Key Stage 2), supporting class teachers, leading small intervention groups, and helping to create a positive, engaging learning environment for all pupils.

Job Responsibility

  • Support Learning: Work closely with class teachers to deliver pre-planned activities and lessons, ensuring pupils stay engaged and on task
  • Intervention & Groups: Lead small group interventions or provide 1:1 support for pupils who need extra help with literacy, numeracy, or social skills
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment
  • Inclusion: Support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), adapting your approach to meet their individual needs
  • Preparation: Assist with setting up the classroom in the morning and clearing away at the end of the day

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working within a UK primary school setting
  • A flexible mindset, with the ability to walk into a new classroom and hit the ground running with a smile
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport with pupils, school staff, and parents
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one) and two professional references
