Job Description

Ultahost is looking for a skilled Linux System Administrator (L3) to join our technical operations team. As a senior support engineer, you’ll be responsible for handling complex tickets, solving Linux-based hosting issues, and ensuring high-quality service to our customers. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with Proxmox, and the ability to resolve daily hosting-related technical issues efficiently.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and resolve advanced support tickets related to Linux hosting environments
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with WordPress, LiteSpeed, cPanel, and general server performance
  • Handle Proxmox-related tasks including VPS management, container troubleshooting, and cluster maintenance (1–2 years experience required)
  • Perform daily tasks such as SSL installations, domain pointing, DNS adjustments, email configuration, and user access controls
  • Manage server backups, migrations, and system recovery procedures
  • Ensure ticket response SLAs are met and escalate when needed
  • Work with other engineers and teams to improve knowledge base and automation processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Linux server administration (hosting industry preferred)
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Proxmox virtualization
  • Strong knowledge of web hosting stack: Apache/Nginx, MySQL, PHP, DNS, email servers
  • Experience with WordPress, SSL setup, domain configuration, and LiteSpeed tuning
  • Comfortable with command-line tools and common Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian)
  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and communicate solutions clearly
