We are seeking an experienced Level 2 Telecommunications Technician to support network operations across Central Florida. This role requires strong hands-on experience with telecom equipment installation and power systems, along with the ability to travel between sites to support critical infrastructure work.
Job Responsibility:
Install, remove, upgrade, and replace telecommunications equipment in Central Offices and remote facilities
Work with AC/DC power systems, including battery plants, rectifiers, distribution bays, grounding, and power cabling
Perform power cutovers, equipment turn-ups, and migrations per engineering documentation
Troubleshoot equipment, power, circuit, and connectivity issues
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals
Conduct site surveys and accurately document completed work
Follow safety standards and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and NOC teams
Travel regularly throughout the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Florida Gulf Coast regions
Requirements:
2–4 years of telecommunications field experience, preferably in Central Office or carrier environments
Strong knowledge of −48V DC power systems, AC systems, and grounding
Experience installing network equipment such as switches, routers, transport gear, and legacy systems
Familiarity with fiber, copper, and coax cabling and standard telecom test equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in dense equipment environments
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Minimum of 3 years of experience in computer hardware and associated technologies
Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Apple and Dell devices
Strong understanding of cable installation processes and best practices
Familiarity with electrical systems and the ability to identify operational statuses
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field environments
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
Availability for occasional overtime and emergency service requests
Nice to have:
OSHA, DC Power, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
