Level 2 Teaching Assistant

• Support pupils with their learning and general wellbeing
• Ensure every child can reach their full potential in a safe, caring environment
• Be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Establish a positive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe, enjoy learning, and promote their independence
• Promote positive behaviour and concentration
• Adapt responses to any changes or escalations
• Ensure the highest standard of personal care and supporting personal needs when required (e.g., toileting, hygiene, dressing)
• Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare and positive wellbeing of pupils according to school policies
• Engage in reflective practices, continuous professional development, and appraisal
• Participate in regular training and other learning activities, as well as supervision and appraisal

• Previous experience (at least one year) of working within a relevant SEND Provision
• Flexible, adaptable, and solution-focused
• Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
• Good interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff and professionals
• Solid understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
• Experience managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including those that challenge
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Competent ICT skills
• Willing to work towards a Level 2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools if not already held
• Able to meet the demands of physically challenging work
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS with barred list checks
• Eligibility to work in the UK
