Meadowside Primary School is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our team. One role is permanent, and the other is a maternity cover. Both positions are based within our Key Stage 1 Designated Provision, where you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring and inclusive environment, starting in September 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction of teaching or senior staff
Support the implementation of the Early Years Framework and National Curriculum
Enable access to learning for all pupils, including those with specific individual learning needs
Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning and extracurricular activities
Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
Assist in classroom management, resource organisation, and lesson preparation
Observe and report on pupil performance to the class teacher
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development
Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies
Requirements:
Recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) in supporting children
general understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary National Curriculum
experience working with children with additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or PAD
strong teamwork and communication skills
commitment to own professional development
good personal numeracy and literacy skills
ability to adapt approach to meet the specific needs of individual pupils
must be eligible to work in the UK
