Job Description

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals to support the pupil's learning, communication, social development and wellbeing throughout the school day. The role will involve implementing personalised support strategies, adapting activities where appropriate and helping the pupil access all aspects of school life. Personal care support will form part of this role and applicants should be comfortable providing dignified and sensitive personal care in line with the pupil's individual needs and school policies. We are looking for someone who holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), has experience of supporting children with additional needs, demonstrates patience, empathy and a nurturing approach, can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues, is able to follow support plans and work collaboratively as part of a team, and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is funded through additional pupil funding and is therefore fixed term, subject to the continuation of funding and the pupil remaining on roll at the school.
