Job Description

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly nursery team in Northampton. You will support the class teacher and early years staff in providing a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for young children. The role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supporting children’s learning and development, and helping to ensure the wellbeing of all pupils.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the teacher in delivering activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Assist with planning and preparing learning materials and classroom resources
  • Work with individual children or small groups to support learning and development
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery environment
  • Observe and report on children’s progress to teachers and staff
  • Support children with personal care where required

Requirements

  • Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Previous experience working with nursery or early years children (ages 3–5)
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
