Job Description

Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately These flexible opportunities are ideal for Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Potters Bar and the surrounding areas, providing high‑quality classroom support across a range of year groups.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide one-to-one and small‑group support for pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
  • Help pupils with personal development, confidence, and independence
  • Contribute to classroom organisation and preparation of learning materials
  • Support pupils with SEND needs where required
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff
  • Assist with classroom routines and contribute to wider school life during longer‑term placements

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience supporting pupils in a primary or secondary school environment
  • Confident working across mixed abilities and adapting to different year groups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, supportive, and able to build positive working relationships
  • Adaptable and proactive in varied school settings
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
