Job Description:

The Level 1 Cable Technician is responsible for executing structured cabling and fiber installation/decommissioning tasks under the direction of senior technicians or leads. This role is hands-on and task-driven, with no decision-making authority and is to support a data center build out for a top 3 tech company in the world.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, route, and secure fiber and copper cabling per project plans and standards
  • Pull, dress, label, and terminate fiber cables as instructed
  • Pull, decommission and recycle cable that is in line with the standards set
  • Assist with fiber placement in racks, trays, and pathways
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in active data centers or network environments
  • Follow safety, security, and quality procedures at all times
  • Escalate issues or blockers to L2 Technicians or Leads

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of structured cabling or fiber installation
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Comfortable working in data centers, IDFs/MDFs, and construction environments
  • Ability to lift equipment and work on elevated equipment as needed
  • Must have heavy duty scissors/strippers, cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses (Will be provided if needed), and earplugs (Will be provided if needed)

  • Prior cabling or low-voltage experience
