Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class Compliance Risk programs, policies, and practices for Legal RRO
  • Conduct independent research and analyze legal matters applying knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations relevant to financial institutions to support identification of solutions, recommend strategies, and assess risks when business decisions are made
  • Apply in-depth understanding of how associated risks differ depending on products and documentation envisaged in relevant jurisdictions and provide advice to the Risk function and business partners accordingly
  • Analyze comparative data and prepare regional and global reports related to compliance risk assessments and monitoring of compliance-related issues
  • support internal and external peers to gather information, and work closely with the team’s management to determine legal solutions
  • Identify and address potential risk, and investigating and assist in responses to compliance risk issues
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of compliance operations
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas
  • Provide support for Citi’s legal operations such as litigation, discovery and settlements, as well as negotiations and contract administrations
  • Execute, review, process, and track legal documentations
  • Liaise with different control and functional businesses in executing legal programs and projects to achieve improved, coordinated and efficient legal processes and solutions

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
  • 1 year of experience as a Risk Report Analyst or related position assisting in creating solutions and recommendations in support of compliance risk management and/or legal operations in a global financial services institution
  • Experience preparing regulatory deliverables and reporting to ensure adherence to laws/regulations
  • Experience performing risk identification and assessment, ensuring the provision of timely solutions and escalating issues as necessary to management
  • Experience supporting audits, performing stress testing and reporting on control effectiveness
  • Experience researching and analyzing key documentation to ensure any risks and compliance breaches are properly investigated and addressed
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders and senior management on risk insight, compliance breaches and the implementation of solutions
  • Experience drafting and delivering comprehensive, time-sensitive reports to regulators and senior management
  • Experience collecting, managing, and reporting on data to ensure regulatory obligations are met
  • Experience investigating and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure compliance, including identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions

  • Horizon scan of UK and Jersey financial regulators through a third-party platform (CUBE) as well other sources to identify regulatory updates and regulatory developments which will be applicable to Citi
  • Analyse and scoping the impact of new and complex regulatory developments across senior function/business/product, including cross-border impact
  • Partner with Citi Legal Advisory and ICRM colleagues in preparing and presenting of regulatory analysis for new, large, and complex regulations to support Citi’s businesses and functions in implementing these regulations
  • Analyse the jurisdictional regulatory profile on the third-party platform ensuring that it timely captures all relevant regulatory updates for the UK and Jersey regulators
  • Review and draft regulations summaries for in scope Laws, Rules, and Regulations
  • Processing of regulatory changes on time and in accordance with the Citi’s Regulation Management Program requirements and assigning of these changes to in scope businesses and functions
  • Partner with other Identification Leads across Europe ensuring consistent delivery of the program and identification and delivery of enhancements required for the identification processes and tools
  • Partner with other ICRM teams and global functions, including Legal, Risk, Operations and Technology, and Finance to prevent and detect non-compliance issues and promote a culture of compliance
  • Participate in, as appropriate, various internal assurance processes, e.g., Regional Enterprise wide and Horizontal risk assessments, self-assessment, internal audit, or compliance assurance reviews.
