We are looking for a detail-oriented legal specialist to support lateral conflicts review for an established law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a part-time, ongoing contract position that focuses on evaluating conflict information, researching related entities, and coordinating with attorneys, recruiting, and administrative teams to keep review files complete and current.
Job Responsibility
Coordinate the collection and distribution of lateral conflict details, following up with candidates, attorneys, recruiters, and support teams to obtain missing information and maintain complete records
Prepare and evaluate conflict reports for lateral hires and associated matters by using firm conflict tools and related research resources
Examine questionnaires, client and matter histories, portable business details, and related-party materials to identify relationships, clarify roles, and flag potential ethical concerns
Track the status of waivers, consents, engagement documents, confidentiality measures, and other follow-up items connected to lateral conflict analysis
Monitor outstanding conflict submissions and proactively communicate with stakeholders to keep reviews progressing on schedule
Maintain accurate database records by updating party names, matter histories, search notes, and supporting documentation within conflict management systems
Assist attorneys and business teams with questions related to ethical walls, restricted access protocols, and other confidentiality safeguards
Conduct legal and corporate research through platforms such as Lexis, public records, and corporate hierarchy sources to verify entities and uncover related organizations
Requirements
Juris Doctor degree required
active bar admission is not required
Demonstrated experience with conflicts checks and legal documentation review in a law firm or legal services environment
Ability to analyze client, matter, and related-party information with strong accuracy and sound judgment
Familiarity with legal research tools, public record searches, and corporate entity research methods
Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with attorneys, candidates, recruiting teams, and administrative staff
Proven ability to manage multiple active reviews, track deadlines, and maintain organized records in a fast-paced setting
High level of discretion when handling confidential legal and business information
