We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team in Woodland Hills, California. This is a contract position, offering a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work remotely for up to three days a week. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense litigation and be proficient in legal documentation, e-filing, and transcription tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and format discovery documents, pleadings, and other legal materials with precision
Manage state and federal e-filing processes to ensure timely and accurate submissions
Maintain and organize litigation calendars, ensuring deadlines and schedules are consistently met
Transcribe legal documents and correspondence using dictation tools
Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support various insurance defense cases
Draft and edit legal documents, letters, and pleadings as required
Handle administrative tasks related to civil and defense litigation
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and protocols throughout case management
Provide general support to attorneys in insurance defense matters
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant
Strong background in insurance defense litigation is preferred
Proficiency in e-filing for both state and federal courts
Excellent transcription skills with experience using dictation software
Familiarity with litigation calendar management and scheduling tools
Ability to draft and format legal documents with a keen attention to detail
Solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
