We are looking for a dependable Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team in Louisville, Kentucky. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to day-to-day office and legal administrative operations while building long-term potential within the organization. The role is fully onsite and is ideal for someone who is organized, thorough, and comfortable managing document-heavy work in a legal environment. The hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM.
Job Responsibility
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring documents are distributed, processed, and filed promptly
Prepare, format, and revise legal and administrative documents using Microsoft Word and Excel
Maintain organized paper and electronic filing systems for legal records, correspondence, and case-related materials
Draft and edit business correspondence and routine communications with accuracy and care
Provide day-to-day administrative support to legal staff, including answering phone calls, scheduling, document handling, and general office coordination
Assist with the preparation and processing of legal documentation in accordance with established procedures
Review documents for completeness and proper formatting before submission, distribution, or filing
Requirements
Prior experience in a legal secretary, legal administrative, or related office support role
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for document preparation and record management
Ability to handle daily mail, filing, and administrative tasks with strong attention to detail
Experience creating business correspondence with careful attention to detail and working with confidential documents
Familiarity with wills and legal documentation is required
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an onsite office setting
