Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada, on a contract basis. In this role, you will provide essential support for litigation processes, focusing on business, commercial, and labor & employment cases. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, assisting attorneys in managing legal documents, schedules, and trial preparations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle electronic filing of court documents and legal correspondence with accuracy and efficiency
  • Draft, proofread, and format various litigation documents to ensure quality and compliance
  • Manage case dockets and maintain calendars for important deadlines using tools like CompuLaw or Milana
  • Coordinate schedules, filings, and case documentation to support attorneys effectively
  • Assist with settlement procedures and provide trial preparation support when required
  • Organize and maintain legal files and records for easy access and reference
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
  • Ensure all court filings are completed on time and adhere to jurisdictional requirements
  • Monitor and update case progress, keeping attorneys informed of developments

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supporting business, commercial, or labor & employment litigation
  • Proficiency in e-filing, court filings, and legal document management
  • Familiarity with docketing and calendaring software such as CompuLaw or Milana is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment

Nice to have:

  • Trial preparation experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Previous experience with California litigation processes is a plus
