Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Legal Secretary to support a retiring attorney with a trust consolidation project. The client is looking to hire as soon as possible and needs someone who can assist with organizing and preparing trust-related legal documents. This role will focus on helping place remaining assets into a consolidated trust structure and supporting the overall document preparation process. The attorney has four existing trusts that were created over the past 20 years by out-of-state attorneys. The goal is to create one consolidated perpetual trust using language and provisions from the existing documents. The trust must be established in either Illinois or Delaware, and not in Texas or Louisiana. The Legal Secretary will assist by pulling relevant paragraphs from each trust and formatting the final document in a professional and organized manner. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity expected to begin with two initial work sessions of approximately one to two hours each over two days. After that, the assignment is expected to continue at roughly two days per week for a total of four to five hours weekly, at least through September. The client is currently working full time and is very flexible with scheduling. Candidates in Delaware are welcome to apply, and geographic ties to New Orleans and Chicago are also noted.
