We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will provide vital support to a Senior Attorney, ensuring seamless workflow and organization. This role is ideal for someone with experience in litigation who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and schedule depositions, managing all related logistics to ensure smooth proceedings
Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible
Prepare legal documents and correspondence, adhering to strict deadlines and formatting requirements
Assist with litigation tasks such as drafting pleadings and reviewing case materials
Utilize Microsoft Excel to track case details, deadlines, and other critical information
Support the Senior Attorney by managing daily schedules and prioritizing tasks effectively
Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, and court personnel to facilitate case progress
Handle medical malpractice-related documentation and processes with precision and confidentiality
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and firm policies in all tasks performed
Troubleshoot administrative challenges and implement solutions to improve workflow efficiency
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in a litigation-focused role
Federal Courts litigation experience required
Proficiency in scheduling and coordinating depositions
Strong command of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with medical malpractice cases and related legal processes
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interactions
Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documentation and case management
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a dynamic legal environment
