We are pleased to be recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join a well-established and supportive Employment team based in Reading. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to Fee Earners within the Employment department, while ensuring a high standard of service is delivered to both internal colleagues and external clients.
Job Responsibility
Producing accurate documentation, reports, and correspondence in line with standard office practices and precedents
Providing full secretarial support to the team and assisting with administrative tasks as required
Managing fee earners' diaries and coordinating meeting logistics
Inserting and updating key court dates
Handling general administration, including filing, answering calls, and following up via phone or email on behalf of fee earners
Proofreading and formatting presentations
Preparing billing guides and timecards
Issuing invoices and liaising with clients regarding any queries
Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to support invoicing, time modifications, and disbursement tracking
Monitoring the debtors list and arranging payments to third-party suppliers as required
Requirements
2+ years' experience in a secretarial or administrative role
Previous experience working within a legal environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
High attention to detail with the ability to use initiative
Proven ability to manage a high workload within a busy team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Experience handling financial matters and client account queries
Experience within Employment law (advantageous but not essential)
Familiarity with case management systems
Previous Legal Secretary or Legal PA experience
Knowledge of the Elite accounts package
