Job Responsibility:
Prepare and format legal correspondence, motions, subpoenas, and discovery documents
File and serve documents in California state courts and federal courts utilizing electronic platforms (including PACER)
Schedule and coordinate hearings, depositions, and important deadlines for attorneys
Maintain well-organized electronic and paper case files
Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court staff, and external parties
Coordinate exhibits, witness lists, and documents for trial preparation and proceedings
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3+ years’ experience as a Legal Secretary in a litigation practice
Demonstrated expertise in drafting and editing legal documents and correspondence
Familiarity with California court rules and procedures, and electronic filing systems
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills
Comfort with legal software, document management platforms, and calendar management tools
Associate degree, certificate in legal studies, or comparable work background preferred
