Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join our team in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to a thriving legal practice. If you excel in managing legal documentation, maintaining schedules, and supporting attorneys in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
  • Manage attorney schedules, including coordinating meetings, court appearances, and deadlines
  • Draft legal contracts, correspondence, and other necessary documentation as requested
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
  • Review and organize case files, pleadings, and incoming correspondence
  • Assist with discovery processes, including document production and drafting responses
  • Maintain records and legal documentation, ensuring confidentiality and organization
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather and verify case information
  • Support attorneys in deposition, trial, and mediation preparation by organizing relevant materials
  • Handle dictation and transcription tasks efficiently, ensuring timely completion

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within the legal field
  • Proficiency in legal terminology and documentation standards
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and practices
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Competence in using office software and legal management systems
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
