A small, client-focused law office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Paralegal to support a busy attorney specializing in Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation cases. This role offers a mix of administrative and legal support responsibilities, with opportunities for independent work and collaboration.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare legal documents, routine correspondence, pleadings, and letters
Maintain client contact, including answering calls, taking messages, and triaging inquiries
Request medical records and draft letters to providers
Track client expenses and office supplies
Assist with filing new claims and managing case documentation
Use legal software tools including Amicus Attorney, Olympus Dictation, Outlook, and Stamps.com
Occasionally support another attorney who shares the office space
Perform basic legal research and document review
Requirements:
Prior experience in a legal secretary or paralegal role, preferably in personal injury or workers’ compensation
Proficiency in WordPerfect, Windows-based software, and general office technology
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication and client service skills
Nice to have:
Experience with legal case management systems
Familiarity with medical record requests and insurance correspondence
Comfortable working in a small office environment
Familiarity with CompHub and MDEC systems
