A leading regional law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Legal Secretary to join its highly regarded Employment team in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Secretary with strong legal support experience, excellent organisation skills, and a proactive approach to join a respected firm known for delivering high-quality legal services to individuals, businesses, and senior professionals. The successful Legal Secretary will work closely with experienced Employment Lawyers, providing first-class secretarial and administrative support across a broad range of employment matters. This may include supporting with correspondence, diary management, document preparation, client communication, billing, file management, and general team administration. You will be joining a collaborative, professional, and supportive team where attention to detail, communication, and reliability are genuinely valued. The role offers a strong platform for a Legal Secretary who enjoys working in a busy legal environment and wants to be part of a well-established employment law team.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing first-class secretarial and administrative support across a broad range of employment matters
  • This may include supporting with correspondence, diary management, document preparation, client communication, billing, file management, and general team administration

Requirements

  • Previous legal secretarial experience
  • Experience within employment law would be advantageous
  • Strong typing, document production, and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation
  • Confidence liaising with clients, lawyers, and internal teams
  • Experience with diary management, billing, file opening, and general matter support
  • A professional, proactive, and team-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively

  • Handle outgoing correspondence including electronic communications and encryption of documents using secure data transmission methods in line with client requirements
