ATASK is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and mission-driven individual to fill the position of Legal Program Coordinator (Paralegal). Job Responsibility:
Conduct client intakes using trauma-informed and culturally competent practices
Provide paralegal support, including legal document preparation and case support under attorney supervision
Maintain and oversee case management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of progress and outcomes
Support grant reporting, data tracking, and program operations with a high level of accuracy and consistency
Collaborate with the Managing Attorney on program implementation, coordination and continuous improvement
Draft and assist with petitions, motions, affidavits, declarations, and immigration applications
Assist attorneys with case preparation, document review, and evidence organization
Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files in compliance with legal, ethical and organizational standards
Track case progress and update case management databases regularly
Communicate with clients, courts, and external partners as appropriate under attorney supervision
Attend case review meetings and support legal strategy development
Foster a supportive and trauma-informed environment for all clients
Manage grant calendars and track reporting deadlines to ensure timely and accurate submissions
Collect, analyze, and report program data and outcomes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting
Prepare and contribute to grant reports and applications
Support ongoing improvements to legal database systems and reporting tools
Represent the Legal Program at community events, coalitions, and outreach activities
Build and maintain relationships with legal service providers, law schools, and community partners
Support coordination of volunteer, intern, and pro bono attorney engagement
Collaborate on outreach strategies to increase community awareness and access to services
Coordinate legal trainings, workshops, and outreach events
Support onboarding of staff, interns, and volunteers
Assist with legal compliance, best practices, and program systems
Support implementation and use of legal technology and case management tools
Perform additional duties as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
1–3 years of experience in legal services, paralegal work, or program coordination or related field strongly preferred
Demonstrated interest in immigration law, family law, or public interest law
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manager competing priorities with consistency
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based environment
Experience or familiarity with legal document preparation and case management systems preferred
Sensitivity and ability to working with clients in crisis using trauma-informed approaches
High ethical standards, sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Nice to have:
Fluency or conversational ability in an Asian language
Experience working with immigrant or LEP communities
Experience in legal aid, nonprofit, or public interest settings
Familiarity with immigration or family law procedures
Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, or trauma
Experience with case management software or legal technology
