A well-established law firm is seeking a senior legal operations professional to oversee its paralegal function and drive operational excellence across multiple practice areas. This position combines team leadership, resource management, process improvement, and strategic planning to support attorneys and enhance client service.
Job Responsibility
Lead the recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and career development of a large paralegal team
Manage staffing, workflow distribution, and resource planning to ensure efficient support across legal matters
Develop and implement training programs, performance standards, and best practices
Analyze utilization, productivity, and financial metrics to improve efficiency and profitability
Partner with firm leadership on budgeting, compensation planning, and workforce strategy
Identify and implement technology solutions, automation tools, and process improvements to streamline operations
Oversee timekeeping, policy compliance, and coverage planning while fostering collaboration across departments
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
paralegal certification or advanced legal education is a plus
10+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal operations professional, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role within a law firm or comparable legal environment
Demonstrated success managing legal support teams and improving operational performance
Strong understanding of litigation and transactional workflows, legal technology, and project management principles
Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Bachelor's degree or comparable relevant background
paralegal certification or advanced legal education is preferred
At least 10 years of experience in paralegal work or legal operations, including 5 or more years leading teams in a law firm or similar legal setting
Proven ability to manage legal support staff while improving workflows, service levels, and operational effectiveness
Working knowledge of both litigation and transactional legal processes, with the ability to adapt support models across practice groups
Experience using legal technology platforms, including corporate legal management systems and tools related to workflow or project coordination
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build alignment across stakeholder groups
Familiarity with calendar management, docket oversight, and legal support work tied to estate planning, probate, or litigation matters
