Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with an established Houston‑based insurance defense firm to identify an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) for a full‑time, direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly seasoned medical‑legal professional who enjoys working closely with trial attorneys on complex, medically intensive civil litigation and contributing meaningfully to case strategy. As a key member of the litigation support team, the LNC will provide critical medical analysis throughout the lifecycle of a case, including in‑depth medical records review, expert coordination, and trial preparation. This position is fully on-site for the first 90 days, after which the firm offers flexibility for one remote day per week.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare detailed medical chronologies, timelines, and comprehensive medical record summaries
  • Review and analyze medical records to support case evaluations, including causation and damages issues
  • Conduct medical literature searches and synthesize findings for attorneys
  • Identify, screen, and coordinate review of medical expert witnesses
  • Locate, organize, and prepare demonstrative medical evidence for trial and mediation
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, deposition preparation, and trial support involving medical issues
  • Educate attorneys and clients on relevant medical concepts, terminology, and standards of care

Requirements

  • Legal Nurse Consultant certification is strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of combined experience as a Nurse Practitioner and Legal Nurse Consultant is required
  • Prior experience supporting litigation and trial preparation is required
  • Extensive experience reviewing and summarizing complex medical records in a litigation setting
  • Strong understanding of medical standards of care, causation, and damages analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Detail‑oriented
  • Adept at managing multiple matters simultaneously
