Groma is blending real estate and technology to unlock a new real estate asset class while making it easier for everyone, from institutional investors to the residents in our buildings, to participate in ownership. Job Responsibility:

  • Working with internal departments and outside counsel on property-related legal matters
  • Assist legal team in analyzing due diligence and legal research, including title, survey, environmental and other reports
  • Helping counsel draft purchase and sale agreements and other related acquisition closing documents, loan documents, and similar documents for conducting closings
  • Prepare and organize physical and electronic closing binders and ensure all post-closing documents, such as deeds and mortgages, are properly recorded.
  • Support the Legal Department’s role and responsibilities related to Groma’s expansion into additional regional markets
  • Supporting the legal department on all projects, including real estate transactions, permitting and development, real estate fund construction, expansion city research
  • Support the Legal Department’s role in the rollout of Groma’s blockchain strategy, including securities law application where applicable
  • Research and track legal and regulatory developments related to the use of blockchain technology in real estate and capital markets, especially concerning securities law

Requirements:

  • Full-time, matriculated 2L JD candidate at an ABA accredited institution OR Currently enrolled undergraduate student with an interest in law, real estate, securities, and/or blockchain technology
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Must meet minimum hour requirements: 40 hours per week when school is not in session
  • 20 hours per week during school semester
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Diligent and efficient documentation, task, and schedule management skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must be willing to work fully in-office at our office in Boston, MA
