Hunkemöller is looking for a Legal Counsel for a period of 6-months, with a main focus on employment law matters in the broadest sense, to join our international HQ (in Hilversum) part time (32 hours /week) to temporarily cover a maternity leave period. As an experienced employment lawyer, you’ll be working with the General Counsel, but mostly in strong relationship with our HR team and across all relevant business units.
Job Responsibility:
Providing day-to-day legal advice and support to Human Resources and management handling mainly employment-related legal issues including compliance, individual and collective employment rights, discrimination, migration law and litigation
Drafting (employment) agreements, policies, letters and handbooks and best practices
Advising on recruitment and hiring and day-to-day employment issues, employee relations and participation, discipline and terminations
Assisting with employee investigations
Negotiating with the works council and unions
Advising on and coordinating responses to region-specific legal requirements
Monitoring case law, upcoming legislation and implement such
Preparing and conducting trainings to HR
Coordinating external legal support
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience as a lawyer and/or as in-house counsel
Substantial knowledge of and experience with employment law (compensation & benefits, works council/unions, pensions, immigration, health & safety)
Pragmatic business partner with great organizational, analytical, entrepreneurial and communicational skills
High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness
Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
