Aramex Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel (3–5 Years’ PQE) to join our Legal team based in Sydney. This role sits within fast paced commercial environment and provides hands-on legal support across franchising, commercial contracting, and regulatory compliance matters across Australia and New Zealand.
Job Responsibility
Providing practical legal support across franchising, commercial, and compliance matters within Australia and New Zealand
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements to support business operations
Supporting the franchise network with contract management, compliance requirements, and dispute resolution
Assisting with industrial relations matters and broader employment-related compliance issues as they arise
Maintaining and improving legal templates, contracts, policies, and internal documentation
Managing the legal inbox and key tracking systems, including renewals, deadlines, and compliance obligations
Conducting legal research and providing clear, practical advice to support business decision making
Working closely with internal teams to guide legal processes and ensure compliance across the organisation
Supporting corporate governance activities and wider legal projects as directed by the Legal Director
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support effective legal outcomes
Requirements
Bachelor of Laws from a recognised university within Australia
Admission as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia
Approximately 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial or in-house legal role
Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business
A proactive and pragmatic approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of matters
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse range of legal matters
Nice to have
Experience in franchising, commercial law, or industrial relations will be highly regarded
