The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to support business operations and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements.
Job Responsibility:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to NDAs, subscription service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, industry regulations, and company policies
Maintain and update the contract library
Provide legal advice and guidance on contract-related matters to internal stakeholders
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements
Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and best practices
Monitor contract performance and compliance
Conduct contract training sessions for the teams
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Address a variety of legal matters, including corporate, compliance issues, regulatory requirements, intellectual property concerns, and dispute resolution
Requirements:
JD or equivalent law degree
Admitted to and maintain active status in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the SaaS industry
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
Additional specialisation such as privacy certification (e.g. CIPP)
