Job Responsibility:

  • Support Vodafone’s Global Privacy and Data Compliance Program by providing world class legal, strategic, policy operational and other support to Vodafone’s businesses
  • Provide legal advice for Vodafone Global Privacy and Data Compliance Programme
  • Negotiate the terms of strategic solutions for all business lines and functions
  • Support external facing regulatory activities to ensure Vodafone can execute its business strategies
  • Advising on a broad range of privacy, data compliance, AI and cyber regulations across a diverse range of matters including products, services, solutions, marketing campaigns and technology
  • Providing effective and timely advice relating to internal requests for disclosure and use of data
  • Monitoring regulatory/legislative developments and drafting and updating company policies, processes and precedents as required
  • Legal review and support for key group processes
  • Support on legal and contractual frameworks for data sharing for intra-company, third party and Vodafone’s partners
  • Building awareness of, and delivering training to, stakeholders on data regulations, data protection and privacy issues
  • Supporting the development of efficiencies and legal innovation within areas of responsibility and wider group privacy including, but not limited, to digitalisation and automation of key processes and other activities
  • Provide assistance to the Global Privacy Counsel on all required tasks and supporting Vodafone’s Global Privacy Programme, Responsible AI and broader digital / data compliance programme

Requirements:

  • Legal expertise in privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, confidentiality of communications and law enforcement assistance in at least one major geographical Vodafone region
  • Excellent understanding of global privacy landscape in technology and online businesses
  • Good understanding of telecommunications and OTT business strategies and operations
  • Ability to analyse and effectively communicate key strategic implications
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and public speaking skills including advocacy
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organisation with tolerance for ambiguity
  • Persistence to drive change over time
  • Results oriented, proactive, responsible, pragmatic and ethical person with a passion for privacy, digital ethics, Responsible AI and interest in technologies and their societal impact

  • At least 2 years of previous experience within the Tech or Telco industries, within a multinational matrix organisation and / or private practice
