Job Description

Commercial Legal Counsel role supporting a fast-growing SaaS business across North America. Partner with Sales, Product and Leadership to drive deals, manage risk and scale impact. We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to support Eftsure’s expanding US business. This role sits at the intersection of sales, partnerships, product and risk - ideal for a lawyer who enjoys fast-paced commercial work and pragmatic problem-solving. You’ll partner closely with our direct sales and partnerships teams, supporting high-volume and complex mid-market and enterprise SaaS contract negotiations, as well as strategic referral and reseller agreements with some of the most recognized brands in North America. Beyond commercial contracting, you’ll collaborate with global stakeholders across Technology, Product, Customer Operations and Marketing, helping shape product decisions, manage regulatory and privacy risk, and enable Eftsure’s continued growth in the region.

Job Responsibility

  • Review, draft and negotiate SaaS customer agreements and referral / reseller partnership contracts, primarily using Eftsure templates, for North American customers and partners
  • Review and negotiate material vendor agreements supporting US operations, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and risk appetite
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on privacy and regulatory matters, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR and Québec privacy legislation
  • Develop and continuously improve legal documentation, including contract templates, negotiation playbooks, workflows and internal guidelines
  • Support the management of external disputes, claims and investigations
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, including potential M&A activity and other high-impact projects

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited US law school, preferably a T14 law school
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar (preference for California, Texas, New York or Florida)
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney, including time at a leading law firm in a technology, commercial or privacy-focused practice
  • Demonstrated experience advising on commercial technology transactions, including SaaS or cloud-based software
  • Strong working knowledge of US and international privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR and Québec privacy legislation, with the ability to give clear, actionable compliance advice

Nice to have

  • In-house legal experience, particularly within a technology or SaaS environment
  • Exposure to information security frameworks (e.g. ISO, SOC 2, GDPR security certifications)
  • Fluency in another language, particularly French

What we offer

  • A genuinely commercial legal role with visibility across the business
  • High-growth SaaS environment with real momentum in North America
  • Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the US, with leadership based in Sydney, Australia
  • Opportunity to influence product, partnerships and go-to-market strategy early
