Job Description

To strengthen their Legal & Compliance team, they are looking for a Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer with a solid legal background and a strong interest in compliance topics including data protection.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage existing and implement new compliance procedures and policies relating to Swiss legal/regulatory and Company Group requirements
  • Assume ownership for compliance topics and provide clear and pragmatic guidance to the business
  • Support their Data Protection Expert in all matters related to privacy regulations (FADP, GDPR) and contribute to the further development of data governance
  • Ensure digital tools and AI systems meet compliance requirements to reduce legal and regulatory risk

Requirements

  • Swiss University degree in law (MLaw or BLaw), additional training in compliance and/or data protection is an advantage
  • Native in German and fluent in English
  • Relevant professional experience of at least 3 years in compliance, regulatory or legal roles with practical exposure to data protection, preferably in the financial industry, ideally in (re)insurance
  • Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and related compliance risks in the Swiss financial sector
  • Knowledge and strong interest in Swiss data protection and privacy law, ideally also in cyber, digitalisation and AI regulation
