Job Description:

We are currently looking for experienced Legal professionals with Capital Markets Transactions experience to work with our Fortune 500 clients in Singapore!

Job Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for providing legal advice, guidance and support to business units and stakeholders on all legal matters relating to the Transactional and Development Finance business in Asia (which is comprised of the Project and Export Finance (“PEF”) team and the Structured and Export Finance (“SEF”) team)
  • Accountability on all Transactional Legal matters in Asia
  • Maintain close relationships with stakeholders including the PEF and SEF Business Heads to provide them with relevant legal advice, guidance and support
  • Promote a culture and practice of compliance with legal standards (including conducting business within legal and regulatory requirements, with high ethical standards)
  • Develop thought leadership capability
  • Lead through example and build an appropriate culture and values
  • Identify horizon risks and develop strategies to mitigate such risks
  • Ensure that regulatory reform/changes are appropriately assessed
  • Part of a team providing Transactional legal advice particularly with respect to new products and initiatives
  • Provide strategic and, where appropriate, proactive advice to the business Management Team and other requisite stakeholders, on all legal and regulatory issues that have a significant impact, working with external counsel as appropriate (and seek to proactively identify such issues)
  • Provide transactional support having regard to Product Programme Authorisation (PPG) parameters and, if applicable, the Group’s minimum standards and guidance for the relevant product(s) or service(s)
  • Act as lead lawyer for complex multi-jurisdictional transactions
  • Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that template documents are fit for purpose

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of capital markets transactions across both public and private markets
  • Solid transactional experience working with SMEs, banks, and project managers to drive growth
  • Minimum 5–7 PQE, with flexibility up to 15 PQE
  • This role is very execution heavy, so they need someone who is a hands on doer rather than someone expecting a strategic oversight
