Job Description

Provide senior-level legal and compliance advisory to management and clients, ensuring strict adherence to SC, BNM, and Labuan IBFC regulations. Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex legal and governance documentation, including family constitutions, trusts, wills, and cross-border asset structures. Oversee enterprise-wide risk management, client due diligence (KYC/AML), and the implementation of robust internal policies and SOPs. Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the Legal and Compliance team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and seamless cross-functional coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) with admission to the Malaysian Bar preferred, backed by at least 6 years of relevant experience in financial services
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks (SC, BNM, Labuan)
  • Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia (SEA) monthly to support regional client engagements and operational needs
  • Demonstrated managerial or supervisory exposure, with the ability to lead, mentor, and oversee the performance of a legal and compliance team.
