Robert Half Legal is partnering with a prominent global investment firm to hire a Legal Billing Coordinator. This organization specializes in alternative investments, including credit, real estate, private equity, and infrastructure. This is a 4–6 month contract opportunity to cover a leave of absence, with a hybrid schedule (3–4 days per week on-site). The target start date is January 21, and interviews are taking place now.
Job Responsibility:
Set up and verify new matter files, ensuring information is accurate for both the legal department and external law firms
Assign and distribute matter numbers
Track pending requests and escalate aged items as needed
Review legal invoices for compliance and proper discounts
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Coordinate with Accounts Payable for invoice processing
Monitor and report on aged invoices
Assist with new vendor (law firm) onboarding and documentation
Respond promptly to ad-hoc billing questions from internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong professionalism and communication skills
Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a dynamic setting
Quick to learn new systems
Previous experience in legal, finance, billing, or administrative support preferred
Nice to have:
Prior experience with SimpleLegal/OnIt is a plus
