Job Description:

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a prominent global investment firm to hire a Legal Billing Coordinator. This organization specializes in alternative investments, including credit, real estate, private equity, and infrastructure. This is a 4–6 month contract opportunity to cover a leave of absence, with a hybrid schedule (3–4 days per week on-site). The target start date is January 21, and interviews are taking place now.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set up and verify new matter files, ensuring information is accurate for both the legal department and external law firms
  • Assign and distribute matter numbers
  • Track pending requests and escalate aged items as needed
  • Review legal invoices for compliance and proper discounts
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable for invoice processing
  • Monitor and report on aged invoices
  • Assist with new vendor (law firm) onboarding and documentation
  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc billing questions from internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong professionalism and communication skills
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a dynamic setting
  • Quick to learn new systems
  • Previous experience in legal, finance, billing, or administrative support preferred

Nice to have:

Prior experience with SimpleLegal/OnIt is a plus
