We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Denver, Colorado. This role supports complex civil litigation processes and offers opportunities for billable hours. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and professionalism to a high-paced environment. This will be a fully on-site role downtown.
Job Responsibility:
Electronically assemble and file legal documents in compliance with court requirements
Needs someone with Docketing, Calendaring, and familiarity with the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure
Prepare and finalize motion and discovery templates for filing
Coordinate expert witness schedules for depositions and trial proceedings
Assist in the preparation of documents required for trials, mediations, and arbitrations
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks
Manage payment requests and oversee the client billing process
Organize and schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, hearings, and travel arrangements
Maintain calendars and documents using tools such as Outlook and iManage
Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity
Handle administrative tasks and support litigation processes as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of three years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably in complex civil litigation
High school diploma required
a business school degree or paralegal certificate is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
Experience with document management systems like iManage and Adobe Acrobat for editing
Familiarity with e-filing procedures and calendaring systems
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume workloads
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters
