We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in Georgia. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can manage documentation, filings, and case coordination with precision. Job Responsibility:
Maintain organized case files and oversee day-to-day matter tracking using legal case management systems such as Clio
Prepare, format, and revise legal documents in Microsoft Word for attorney review, including pleadings, discovery materials, and supporting correspondence
Handle electronic filing of court documents and ensure submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines
Support litigation workflows by assembling evidence files, coordinating document production, and assisting with discovery-related tasks
Provide calendar and administrative support by monitoring important dates, scheduling case-related deadlines, and helping keep matters on track
Assist with attorney time entry and billing-related activities to help maintain accurate client records and invoicing support
Contribute to file organization and records maintenance as the practice continues focusing primarily on commercial and construction litigation matters
Requirements:
Prior experience working as a Legal Assistant in a civil litigation environment
Hands-on knowledge of e-filing procedures and court filing requirements
Strong case management and file organization skills, with the ability to keep multiple matters moving efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Word for drafting, formatting, and revising legal documents
Familiarity with litigation support tasks such as discovery preparation, evidence organization, and pleading assembly
Effective calendar management skills with close attention to deadlines and scheduling accuracy
Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in an onsite legal office setting
