A national immigration law firm has an immediate opening for Legal Assistant! This Legal Assistant will perform challenging, substantive legal work with a focus on preparing immigration applications. Job Responsibility:
Perform high-volume data entry accurately and efficiently
Organize and maintain legal documents detailing eligibility for visa classification
Handle clerical tasks such as copying, printing, and scanning documents
Create electronic and physical client files for efficient case management
Track and monitor the status of immigration cases, ensuring timely updates
Circulate incoming mail according to specified procedures
Learn to analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing
Draft specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits
Interface with corporate representatives and foreign nationals
Participate in legal practice meetings and alerts on current events, advanced topics, and client relationship-building skills
Support additional projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with professional office experience (internships or fellowships alone are not sufficient) OR 1–2+ years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence and proofread with accuracy
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage high-volume workloads efficiently
Proven ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
experience working in case management or data entry systems is a plus
Self-starter with a client-service mindset, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn and grow within the legal field
Must be willing and able to work onsite, Monday through Friday, in the San Francisco office (remote work is not available for this role)
