A senior litigation partner at a busy insurance defense firm needs a strong Legal Assistant to provide immediate support due to an unexpected leave coverage gap. This role is critical to maintaining workflow continuity during a high-volume period. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and able to step in quickly with minimal onboarding.
Job Responsibility
Provide direct legal administrative support to a senior partner
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents (pleadings, discovery, correspondence)
Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court dates
Coordinate filings (state and federal, e-filing experience preferred)
Support case organization and document management
Schedule meetings, depositions, and Zoom appearances
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
Assist with trial preparation and case file maintenance
Requirements
3–5+ years legal assistant experience preferred
MUST have litigation background in insurance defense
Strong preference for candidates familiar with: Medical malpractice defense
Elder abuse defense
Strong knowledge of litigation workflow, deadlines, and filings
Able to "hit the ground running" with minimal training
Highly organized and detail-oriented under pressure
Comfortable supporting a senior-level attorney with heavy caseload
Strong written communication and document formatting skills
Professional, calm, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment
