Our client, a leading downtown law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the Business team. The Legal Assistants serve clients by providing administrative support to attorneys.
Job Responsibility:
Provides skilled, proactive administrative support to assigned attorneys and other team members in the Business Practice Group
Edits and proofreads complex legal documents
Works with members of the legal team and accounting to gather costs and time in preparation for closing
Actively supports the billing process
Prepares and reviews letters and memoranda according to Firm standards
Exhibits outstanding client service orientation in all verbal and written communication
Assists in managing client contacts, emails, print documents and incoming and outgoing mail
May enter time into billing management software
Requirements:
3+ years Corporate Legal Assistant experience strongly preferred
Corporate secretarial experience with corporate entity management, M&A support, securities filings, and corporate due diligence support experience is highly preferred
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of, and experience in, using Microsoft Office programs
must have a desire to maintain excellent technical skills and to learn new software by taking advantage of internal training programs
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant, with a strong preference for candidates with corporate law expertise
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and eager to stay updated on new software through training opportunities
Demonstrated experience with e-filing processes and civil litigation support
Skilled in managing calendars and coordinating schedules effectively
Familiarity with corporate maintenance tasks, including handling corporate minute books and secretarial functions
Knowledge of corporate and commercial law practices, including Blue Sky compliance
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
