Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support a boutique law firm in Charlotte, North Carolina on a Contract basis. This position focuses on keeping daily operations organized by coordinating schedules, maintaining case-related records, and providing dependable administrative support to attorneys and office staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track important deadlines to support daily legal operations
  • Maintain docket information and monitor key dates to help ensure timely follow-up on active matters
  • Prepare, organize, and file legal and administrative documents in both physical and electronic formats
  • Provide regular updates on case or task status so attorneys and team members remain informed of progress
  • Support general office administration by handling correspondence, organizing records, and assisting with routine operational needs
  • Review incoming information for completeness and route documents or requests to the appropriate parties promptly

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a legal assistant, administrative support, or similar office-based role
  • Working knowledge of calendar coordination, docket tracking, and document filing practices
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, staff, and external contacts
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when handling records, scheduling, and status reporting
  • Proficiency with standard office software and comfort working with electronic document systems
