We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy family law practice in Nashua, New Hampshire. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to assist with case coordination, client communication, and preparation of legal materials in an on-site setting. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, familiarity with family law matters, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Responsibility
Welcome new clients, gather intake information, and help ensure case files are organized from the start of each matter
Prepare, format, and revise family law documents, correspondence, and supporting materials for attorney review
Coordinate court-related submissions by handling electronic filing tasks accurately and within required deadlines
Maintain calendars for hearings, meetings, and case milestones to help keep legal matters on track
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and internal team members regarding scheduling, documentation, and case status updates
Organize and maintain legal records, pleadings, and supporting documents in a clear and accessible manner
Assist with administrative and procedural tasks that support the daily operations of a family law office
Requirements
Experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a law firm or legal department
Background supporting family law matters and handling related legal documentation
Proficiency with electronic filing processes and court submission procedures
Strong calendar management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines accurately
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and court interaction
High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information
