We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team in San Jose, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in family law and litigation procedures, who can handle a variety of administrative and legal tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and coordinate the scheduling of court dates, deadlines, and client meetings to ensure smooth case progress
Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence, adhering to proper grammar and punctuation standards
Conduct e-filing and handle submissions for court filings in compliance with local and state regulations
Assist attorneys with case preparation, including organizing discovery materials and managing e-discovery processes
Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible
Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel to provide updates and address inquiries
Support the team by monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks
Utilize document management systems and legal software to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
Collaborate with team members to ensure all administrative tasks are handled effectively
Perform general administrative duties, such as managing correspondence and handling incoming calls
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in family law
Proficiency in e-filing processes and civil litigation procedures
Strong skills in calendar management and ability to track deadlines accurately
Familiarity with court filings and legal documentation requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and proofreading abilities
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document formatting
Experience with document management systems and e-discovery tools
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
