A well-established, boutique litigation firm in Covington, Louisiana is seeking a Legal Assistant with strong insurance defense experience to support a partner and several associates in a busy but collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5+ years of legal support experience who enjoys staying organized, managing deadlines, and keeping cases moving efficiently. The firm handles insurance defense matters, including personal injury and hospitality-related claims, and offers a laid-back, respectful culture where the focus is simply on getting the work done well. Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to a partner and multiple associates
Maintain attorney calendars and monitor litigation deadlines
Prepare and format templates for discovery, pleadings, and other litigation documents
Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case events
Manage incoming filings, correspondence, and case-related documentation
Assist with file organization and case management using Clio (training provided if needed)
Ensure accurate document handling and timely follow-up on case tasks
Communicate professionally with attorneys, staff, and external parties when necessary
Requirements:
3–5+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines
Experience supporting litigation attorneys in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable preparing document templates and managing case materials
Familiarity with case management systems (Clio experience is a plus but not required)
Detail-oriented with strong communication and administrative skills
Paralegal experience is welcomed but formal education or certification is not required
