Job Description:

A San Francisco–based personal injury law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support its civil litigation practice. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on experience in a collaborative, plaintiff-side law firm environment with long-term potential. The Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative and case support to attorneys and paralegals handling civil litigation matters, primarily personal injury cases. This role is ideal for a legal professional looking to deepen their litigation experience while contributing to the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced firm.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Assist with drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Help prepare and organize pleadings, discovery, and case materials
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
  • Track deadlines, assist with calendaring, and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Coordinate with clients, court personnel, experts, and vendors as needed
  • Assist with court filings and service of documents under attorney direction
  • Support trial preparation and other litigation-related tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1–3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, legal admin, or similar role in a law firm
  • Prior exposure to civil litigation or personal injury matters preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • familiarity with legal case management systems a plus
  • Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco office five days per week
