This is a primarily a products liability and business litigation legal assistant position. This is a full time, in-office position, supporting a team of attorneys handling matters in federal and state courts nationwide. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Job Responsibility:
Preparing and filing pleadings and other documents with federal and state courts
Managing calendars, including litigation deadlines, meetings, and other appointments
Drafting simple pleadings and correspondence
Saving court filings, correspondence and other documents to case file as appropriate
Gathering and preparing documentation for litigation consultants and experts
Preparing, scanning, and making copies of exhibits and binders as needed
Corresponding with opposing and other counsel
Managing contacts in Outlook and the firm’s client relationship management platform
Assisting with electronic discovery and production
Assisting with travel arrangements, internal correspondence, and reimbursements
Supporting attorneys in the billing and timekeeping processes
Requirements:
Three to five years of relevant experience
Significant training and experience supporting attorneys in complex litigation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective proofreading and citation checking
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency in document management platforms (such as iManage, NetDocuments, etc.)
Proficiency in litigation discovery platforms (such as Relativity, Disco, Everlaw, etc.)
Must be a team player, organized and able to multi-task in an extremely fast paced environment
